The Ice Age Trail

Getting out and away can be relaxing, especially if you are one of us that works inside all week. The hiking opportunities in the area are awesome, and several segments of the Ice Age Trail are a short drive from Rice Lake. To the east, the trail winds its’ way through the beautiful Blue Hills, up to Birchwood where it meets up with the Tuscobia Trail, and to the west it works its’ way from Haugen through Bear Lake and the Narrow Gauge area towards Barronett.

The Ice Age Trail is a 1000 mile hiking path entirely within the state of Wisconsin, highlighting ice age landscape features, and offering access to some of Wisconsin’s most scenic wild areas.
